Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Tycana (the CLI tool and cloud service at app.tycana.com). By using Tycana, you agree to these terms.
The Service
Tycana is a command-line task manager with optional cloud sync. The free tier runs entirely on your local machine. The Sync tier ($6/month or $60/year) adds cloud synchronization, calendar subscriptions, and shared spaces.
Your Data
You own your data. Your tasks are stored as plain YAML files on your machine. If you use cloud sync, your tasks are also stored on our servers to enable multi-device access.
Your local YAML files are always yours — they exist on your machine and are not affected by account changes. You can delete your cloud data and account by contacting [email protected]. If you cancel your subscription, cloud sync stops but your local files remain.
Accounts
You need an account to use Sync features. Accounts are authenticated via email magic links. You are responsible for maintaining access to your email address.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that are used to abuse the service or violate these terms.
Acceptable Use
Don’t use Tycana to:
- Store illegal content
- Abuse the API (automated scraping, excessive requests beyond normal use)
- Attempt to access other users’ data
- Reverse engineer or attack the service
Payments
Sync subscriptions are billed monthly ($6) or annually ($60). Payments are processed by our merchant of record. You can cancel at any time; access continues through the end of your billing period.
We may change pricing with 30 days notice. Price changes don’t affect active annual subscriptions until renewal.
Calendar Subscriptions
Calendar feeds use unique URLs. Treat your feed URL like a password — anyone with it can see your scheduled task titles, times, and projects. You can regenerate your feed URL at any time to revoke previous access.
Service Availability
Tycana is provided as-is. We make reasonable efforts to keep the service running but don’t guarantee uptime or data durability. The CLI works fully offline regardless of cloud service status.
We are not liable for any damages arising from service interruptions, data loss, or bugs. Our total liability is limited to the fees you’ve paid in the past 3 months.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via the email on your account.
